Terms of Use
Effective 7 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the Veblen app or this website. Veblen is made by Peter Åmo Nesbakk, Norway ("we"). By using Veblen you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. Apple's standard licence terms for App Store apps also apply.
What Veblen is
Veblen teaches finance and economics through lessons, questions, drills and a weekly story. It is free to use. We may change, add or remove features and content over time.
Learning, not advice
Everything in Veblen is for learning. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, and it doesn't take your situation into account. Examples, companies and numbers are illustrations. Rules, rates and laws change, and we can't promise that every detail is complete or up to date. Make real decisions with a qualified adviser and current official sources.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Keep your device and Apple ID secure, since anyone using them can use your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Profile → Delete account.
What you create
Quizzes, card sets and photos you add remain yours. You give us the right to store and show them to you so the app works. Don't add content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that contains other people's personal information without their permission.
Fair use
Don't misuse Veblen: no attempts to break, overload or get around its security, no automated scraping of its content, and no use that harms other people. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
Our content
The lessons, questions, stories and design of Veblen belong to us or are used with permission. You may use them for your own learning, but not copy or republish them.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Veblen running and correct, but it is provided "as is", without guarantees that it is always available or free of errors. To the extent Norwegian law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions you make based on the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Norwegian law governs these terms.
